Dr. Darwyn Coxson

Biography

Darwn Coxso is a faculty member in the Scientific Ecosystem Management program at the University of Northern British Columbia. His research in the Columbia Range and the Rocky Mountains for ecological factors that support pristine interior temperate forests in British Columbia using canopy lichens as indicators of old-growth communities. This ecosystem, which shares many affinities with virgin temperate coastal forests, was very fragmented by resource development and has an uncertain future in the face of climate change. Darwn was a co-author of the 2011 book “Ecology, Conservation and Management of the British Columbia's Temperate Virgin Forest” from the University of British Columbia Press.
