Kathy Watton joined the Canadian Mountain Network in July 2016 as the Network’s Administrative Assistant. She draws 12 years’ experience from retail management where she mentored team members in leadership skills. Her knowledge of the technology, retail, and human resources sectors combined with her strong personal values enrich her work with the CMN. Kathy provides support in a variety of areas including administering the Network, photography, visual and website design, and communications.
Kathy has a background in Psychology and English at the University of Alberta. She has also completed courses in Human Resources Management, leadership, and teamwork. Kathy’s interest in management was inspired by her early exposure in leadership where she coordinated high school tournaments for the school throughout the year; she is grateful for her early development in leadership for its strong management focus.
An Edmonton native, Kathy spends her time outside of CMN walking in Edmonton’s River Valley and pursuing photography with her husband. Kathy is owned by 4 cats, a variety of fish, an excellent husband, and founded the local jewelry company Look Shiny Things.
